Welcome to AstroLink AI, a service provided by AstroLink Ltd ("we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the AstroLink AI platform, including any features, content, tools, applications, and services provided through our website or mobile apps.

By accessing or using AstroLink AI, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. Early Access Notice

AstroLink AI is currently in early access, which means the platform is in active development. Features may be added, removed, or changed without prior notice. You may encounter bugs, unfinished features, or performance issues.

We offer early access to allow users to try the platform, explore its capabilities, and provide feedback. By using AstroLink AI during this phase, you understand that:

  • The service is not final and may not perform as expected.
  • Data loss or temporary service outages may occur.
  • User feedback may be collected and used to improve the product.

2. Subscriptions and Payments

AstroLink AI offers both free and paid subscription tiers:

  • Free Tier: Basic access with message and storage limits.
  • Plus Tier: Higher limits and access to social features.
  • Pro Tier: Even higher limits and full feature access.

Payment Terms:

  • Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly basis.
  • Payments are securely handled via Stripe.
  • No refunds are provided unless legally required (e.g., under UK consumer law or the EU Consumer Rights Directive).

Renewal & Cancellation:

  • Your subscription renews automatically unless cancelled.
  • You may cancel anytime in your account settings. Your plan remains active until the end of the billing cycle.
  • If your payment fails, we may suspend or downgrade your account.

3. Account Requirements & Age Restrictions

To use AstroLink AI, you must:

  • Be at least 13 years old or the minimum digital age of consent in your country (e.g., 16 in the EU).
  • Provide accurate personal information during signup.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials.

We use your Date of Birth (DOB) during signup to comply with child protection laws like:

  • The UK Children's Code (Age Appropriate Design Code)
  • The EU GDPR Article 8
  • The US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)

We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under the required age. If we discover a user is underage, we may delete their account and associated data immediately.

4. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree to use AstroLink AI lawfully and responsibly. You may not:

  • Use the service to produce, transmit, or share content that is illegal, abusive, hateful, misleading, or explicit.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, resell, or exploit any part of AstroLink AI.
  • Harass, threaten, or defraud other users or the platform itself.
  • Upload viruses, malware, or any harmful code.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate this policy.

5. Use of Artificial Intelligence

AstroLink AI includes an AI assistant ("Astro") powered by third-party large language models. These AI responses:

  • Are generated automatically and may be inaccurate, biased, or offensive.
  • Should not be used as a substitute for professional advice (e.g., legal, financial, medical).
  • Are not guaranteed to reflect facts or truth.

By using Astro, you agree that:

  • You understand its limitations.
  • You will not use AI output in high-stakes or decision-critical contexts.
  • You will report harmful or unsafe outputs via our feedback systems.

6. Data Privacy and Handling

Your privacy matters. By using the service, you consent to our Privacy Policy. Key points:

  • Data you provide (e.g., chat logs, uploads) is stored securely on Supabase servers.
  • We use encryption, access controls, and monitoring to protect user data.
  • We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
  • We may share limited data with trusted vendors (e.g., Stripe) for functionality and legal compliance.

We comply with:

  • UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018
  • EU GDPR
  • Relevant US and international data laws

7. Intellectual Property

  • Use screenshots, AI output, or internal systems for commercial use without consent.

User-generated content (e.g., bios, profile pictures) remains your property, but you grant us a limited license to display, store, and use it as part of the platform's functionality.

8. Modifications to Terms or Services

We may update these Terms periodically for legal, technical, or business reasons. When we do:

9. Termination of Service

10. Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability

AstroLink AI is provided "as-is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that:

  • The service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
  • Any data or AI output will be accurate or reliable.
  • Any bugs or issues will be resolved within a specific timeframe.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AstroLink Ltd is not liable for:

  • Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
  • Personal injury or emotional distress
  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
